As part of the Government’s strategic road expansion agenda aimed at improving connectivity, facilitating economic growth, and unlocking regional development, the Government has launched the upgrading to bitumen standard of the 37-kilometre Ithagani–Ngorika / Ngorika–Mbaruk / Ngorika–Kanyiriri Road Project in Nyandarua County.

Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport, Hon. Davis Chirchir, presided over the launch and was accompanied by the Principal Secretary for Roads, Eng. Once completed, the upgraded road will provide reliable all-weather access, facilitate the efficient movement of agricultural produce to markets, and improve access to healthcare, education, and administrative services.

The project is expected to reduce travel time and transport costs, enhance road safety, stimulate local commerce, and unlock the region’s agricultural and economic potential, ultimately improving livelihoods for the people of Nyandarua County.
