High-Level Multi-Agency Meeting Reviews Progress of Isiolo–Mandera Road Corridor
To accelerate the delivery of critical infrastructure in Northern Kenya, a high-level multi-agency team convened this evening to review progress on the construction of the Isiolo–Mandera Regional Road Corridor.
Principal Secretary for Roads, Eng. Joseph Mbugua, participated in the consultative meeting on the Horn of Africa Gateway Development Project (HoAGDP), convened by Cabinet Secretaries Hon. Davis Chirchir (Roads and Transport), Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen (Interior), and Hon. Soipan Tuya (Defence).
The meeting received an update on the status of the project and noted that enhanced security measures have been implemented across the region to support the continued progress of construction works.
The Government reaffirmed its commitment to the successful implementation of the Isiolo–Mandera Regional Road Corridor, a strategic project expected to strengthen regional connectivity, facilitate trade, and improve the livelihoods of communities along the corridor.
Among those present were Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, Principal Administrative Secretary for Internal Security Jacob Narengo, General Officer Commanding Eastern Command Major General Luka Kutto, and KeNHA Director General Eng. Luka Kimeli, alongside other senior government officials.
