Kenya Advances Funding Talks to Boost Horn of Africa Gateway Infrastructure

Nairobi: Principal Secretary, Eng. Joseph Mbugua today led the Ministry of Roads and Transport delegation in high-level negotiations with the World Bank in Nairobi to explore additional financing for the Horn of Africa Gateway Development Project.

The discussions centered on scaling up infrastructure investment for the Isiolo–Mandera corridor, particularly the 143km Modogashe–Samatar and Rhamu–Mandera road sections, with a focus on accelerating project implementation to enhance regional connectivity, trade, and socio-economic development.

Present were Principal Secretary, Mohamed Daghar (Transport), Kenya National Highways Authority DG, Lukas Kimeli, and other senior project officials.
