State Department for Roads Strengthens Engagement with Ombudsman on Complaints Resolution and Access to Information
The State Department for Roads is committed to enhancing complaints resolution, improving access to information and strengthening citizen-centred service delivery across the roads sector.
Today, Secretary Administration, Mr. Evans Mutari, represented the Principal Secretary for Roads, Eng. Joseph Mbugua, during a high-level engagement with the Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ) aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration on complaints resolution and compliance with Access to Information requirements.
The engagement was held under the theme, “Strengthening Institutional Collaboration for Accelerated Complaints Resolution and Enhanced Access to Information Compliance.”
The consultative meeting provided an opportunity for the State Department for Roads and the Commission to review complaint trends, institutional performance and potential gaps in complaints management and compliance with Access to Information requirements.
The engagement reinforced the State Department’s commitment to ensuring that members of the public have timely, accurate and relevant information on Government programmes, projects and services in the roads sector.
The collaboration with CAJ is also aligned with the broader Government commitment to placing citizens at the centre of public service delivery and ensuring that Government institutions remain transparent, accountable and responsive to the needs and concerns of the people they serve.
Present at the engagement were CAJ Chief Executive Officer, Naisiae Tobiko; representatives from the State Department for Roads and its agencies; and officials from other Government institutions.
