Zimbabwe Delegation Benchmarks Kenya’s Roads Planning and Monitoring Systems

The State Department for Roads today hosted a delegation from Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion, led by Finance Director Tonias Chikura, on a benchmarking mission at the Works Building in Nairobi.

The delegation was received by Secretary Administration, Evans Mutari, who welcomed the team and underscored the importance of knowledge exchange in strengthening infrastructure planning, monitoring, and delivery.

The visit focused on programme and project monitoring and evaluation frameworks within the roads sector, providing an opportunity for both countries to share experiences and learn from each other’s approaches to infrastructure development.

Officials from the State Department for Roads presented Kenya’s systems for planning, monitoring, and evaluating road projects, highlighting measures aimed at enhancing efficiency, accountability, and value for public investment.

The Zimbabwean delegation also shared insights from its own experiences, leading to constructive discussions on strengthening project oversight, performance management, and results-based implementation.
