CS Chirchir Inspects Progress of Rironi–Mau Summit Road Project, Reaffirms Year-End Delivery Target
The Government has reaffirmed its commitment to completing the Nairobi–Naivasha section of the Rironi–Mau Summit Road Project by the end of the year, as construction works continue to gather momentum along the critical transport corridor.
Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport, Hon. Davis Chirchir, on Saturday 31st Oct 2026 inspected the ongoing works, assessing progress and key construction milestones along the section.
A significant milestone has been achieved at Lari, where the first layer of Dense Bituminous Macadam (DBM) has been laid, marking an important step towards the completion and eventual commissioning of the road section.
During the inspection, the Cabinet Secretary reiterated the Government’s commitment to honouring its year-end delivery target, underscoring the importance of the project in enhancing connectivity, easing traffic movement and improving the efficiency of transport along the busy Nairobi–Naivasha corridor.
As the festive season approaches, motorists using the corridor are urged to exercise caution, observe traffic regulations and adhere to road safety guidelines to ensure safe journeys and minimise road accidents.
