  1. The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) is responsible for road signage and lighting on national highways and Class A and B roads. It ensures compliance with both national and international standards for these major roads.
  2. The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) manages signage and lighting for urban roads located within cities and towns. It collaborates with county governments to install and maintain street lighting and urban road signage.
  3. The Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) oversees signage and lighting for rural and Class C roads. Its primary focus is on improving road safety and accessibility in rural areas.
  4. County governments handle road signage and lighting on county roads that are not classified as national or rural roads. This includes the management of street lighting in urban centers and townships.
  5. In specific cases, local authorities or development projects, such as public-private partnerships or community initiatives like those run by the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), may take responsibility for road signage and lighting.
